How We Make Money

We exist to help people just like you make informed financial choices quickly, conveniently and confidently, through a marketplace that’s built for you with no bias towards any providers. Our services are completely free to use, and we’re always transparent about how we sustain our platform.

Behind the scenes, we work hard to deliver this value, conducting market research, creating helpful content, and maintaining the technology that keeps everything running smoothly. We’re able to provide these services thanks to the support of our customers and partners, who help us cover the costs of delivering a reliable, high-quality customer experience.

Our regulatory status and commission

Mintify Limited (FRN: 1023899) is an Introducer Appointed Representative (iAR) of Creditec Limited. Creditec Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is entered on the Financial Services Register under reference number: 971164.

How we work: We act as a transparent bridge between you and the financial market. While our editorial content and market research aim to cover the “whole market” to give you a complete picture, the “Get Quotes” links and eligibility checkers on this site are strictly limited to the panel of lenders and brokers available through our Principal, Creditec Limited.

How we are paid: We do not charge you a fee for using Mintify. Instead, we may receive a share of the commission that Creditec earns if you proceed to take out a product.

Let’s be honest, running a high quality financial services site costs money. We don’t think you mind us making a profit, as long as we earn it by being useful, accurate and transparent. Our revenue keeps the servers running and the research free, ensuring you can always access the data you need to make better financial decisions.

Creditec receives a commission from lenders or other brokers when a credit agreement is successfully formed. We do not receive payments directly from the banks or lenders themselves.

This commercial model allows us to keep our services free for you. Importantly, the commission is paid by the provider as part of their marketing costs. It does not increase the cost of the loan or credit card to you.

Editorial integrity versus commercial listings

We believe in separating our research from our revenue.

  • Editorial Reviews: Our written reviews, guides, and star ratings are based on objective market research and the features of the products. These are produced according to our editorial guidelines, irrespective of whether a provider is on the Creditec panel.
  • Commercial Links: Where you see an option to “Check Eligibility” or “Get Quote,” this is a commercial introduction to Creditec. If a product is highly rated in our editorial review but is not on Creditec’s panel, we will tell you about it, but we cannot provide a direct link to apply.

How we order results

We do not accept payment to influence the ranking or prominence of any product. We act as a directory of research data rather than a regulated comparison service.

To ensure complete neutrality, we present providers in alphanumeric order by default. This allows you to view the raw market data without interference. You can use our sorting tools to organize this information according to your needs, but our commercial relationships never dictate the order in which products appear.

Advertising and sponsored content

To support our platform, we may occasionally accept paid advertising. This is strictly distinguished from our comparison tables and editorial content:

  • Display Ads: Visual banners clearly marked as advertisements.
  • Sponsored Content: Articles or guides funded by partners will always be clearly labelled as “Presented by” or “Sponsored” so you know exactly who is speaking to you.

Our commitment to you

  • Transparency: We clearly disclose our relationship with Creditec and how we earn money on every page where products are listed.
  • Objectivity: Our editorial principles ensure that our market views remain fair and balanced, regardless of our commercial partnerships.
  • Safety: We only introduce you to Creditec Limited, who is fully authorised and regulated. We regularly verify that the partners in Creditec’s panel are licensed to operate in the UK. To check the regulatory status of any firm, please visit the FCA Financial Services Register.

If you have any questions about our business model or regulatory status, please refer to our editorial principles and terms of use, or contact our team directly.
